Philadelphia Archbishop Chaput Names 7 To Clergy Misconduct Review Board

Philadelphia’s archbishop has appointed seven new members to an archdiocesan  review board which examines allegations of clergy misconduct.

In a statement released today by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Archbishop Charles Chaput announced the appointments to the 11-member panel.  But Anna Maria Catanzaro, who is chair of the review panel, says some of those appointees had already begun serving, to fill vacancies left by the retirement of several long-serving board members.

Catanzaro adds that some of the new members have legal or law enforcement experience.

“A number of them do have experience in child protective services, in child welfare, sexual assaults, and sexual crimes,” she told KYW Newsradio. [more]
